about our reno & etc.

so here is the post to myself. something i’d really like to do more on michitecture is to have more original contents and sources & references. there are so many ideas and topics i’d love to organize and post and… you know, i just didn’t follow through.

we really love our white-on-white penny tiles in the bathroom and kitchen floor! these nemo tiles are just gorgeous. we are very happy about our decision to go with white grout with matte white penny tiles. the subtle shimmer and the textures created just the right amount of attention in its context.

stay tuned on more update from our kitchen/bathroom renovation!

patch cafe, designed by studio you me is that kind of cafe you dream to own one day. the interior style is intimate, inviting, with little touch of industrial taste. love the contemporary yet playful atmosphere created by exposing original brick wall, pair with concrete floor and polished marble station.

our ultimate dream holiday home is here

east hampton_dream holiday home_black exterior

all images via eclecticool.es

designed by new york-based australian architect amee allsop, i have to admit this super luxurious summer residence from amagansett (east hampton), new york, would be too big for two of us to spend over the holiday. but still, it would be nice to stay in this gorgeous house for couple days: wake up being surrounded by woods and lots of natural sunlight, enjoy the morning shower in one of these chic bathrooms, take your paddle board to the ocean and paddle away the afternoon…

totally ridiculous and absolutely unrealistic? apparently we might all have a chance to experience this for real! the australian owner has this vision to not only have the place for her summer residence, but also as a place to host yoga retreat & cooking workshop. check out the tree house retreat for more information.

before the 2015 event calendar released, here is a virtual house tour for you:

sorrento beach residence by shareen joel design

recently i explored shareen joel design’s projects via share design and this beach home makes me feel to rush to the shore right now and enjoy the tail of summer as much as possible.

the design studio has created a retreat home for a family of four, that felt casual, relaxed, and not too precious. there needs to be lots of storage room and flexible space to entertain family & guests. (put me on the guest list please) the result is a simple modern interior without scarifying the functionality.

ready for a quick tour?

a beautiful interior from stockholm-based wedding photographer therese winberg. i love especially the brass/gold hardware that can be spotted from living room to the amazing kitchen. the whole tiled-wall with open shelf and black cabinets are so perfect together. not to say the everybody-said-don’t-but-i-still-want-it concrete countertop AND smeg.
