love the simple material palette and the earthy tone that creates this cozy home interior.

the freshly cut look of plywood pair with marble countertop, these two simple materials, are surprisingly a perfect complimentary to each other. so minimal in form but rich in its character. simply gorgeous. and hey did i mention there is a beautiful concrete floor (in true cement gray) that extends inside-out? it must be such a treat to have your daily meals or cup of coffee here with that view.

if you’re like me who still believe in concrete floor, check out these beautiful examples here and here by antwerpen-based architecture studio made architects.

i am having two subjects in one post today.

remember the virtual monday post? that’s right, the realization of the project looks JUST LIKE the rendering, in good way! the marble countertop/backsplash with brass trim, framed by black cabinets with brass hardwares… minimal yet rich in materiality, michitecture’s #1 design mantra.

and remember the atrium house by tham & videgård arkitekter featured back in 2012?  stockholm-based architecture office TVARK’s book looks perfect in one of the HG7 project, packhuset. you can look inside the book here via idea books.nl (which offers really awesome book preview). buy the book from amazon(US).

happy sunday!

you all michitecture readers know the marble countertop has been a long time favorite here. to celebrate my return to the blogsphere (3 weeks doesn’t seem that long ago!), what else can be better as the kick-off post? a cozy & modern apartment with marble countertop.

the marble countertop with dark lower cabinets & white upper cabinets makes a elegant contrast in the kitchen scene. not to mention the very minimal gold hardware detail is totally wining my heart.
