ah. exposed brick walls. certainly there are technical/maintenance aspects to be considered,  (if not whitewashed); and for the rentals, exposed brick walls is often viewed as an real estate ruse to bring some “design” intent to the property (not to say these faux exposed brick wall panels). so here you go, there are actually two types of exposed brick walls included in this property. what do you feel about the exposed brick wall?

the layout of the apartment can be challenging as the unit is at the ground floor next to the street, and, the organization of the rooms  is a linear arrangement from hallway, living room to bedroom/kitchen/bathroom. yet these black frames successfully defined each space without interrupting the visual openness.

truly a thoughtfully curated interior that is rich in characters (love these ceiling bulbs) yet remains its simplicity in color & material palette. this gotta be one of the dream bachelor pad i’d fancy!

and yeah… the ‘new york loft style’ is probably the second next to the exposed brick wall as an overused term in the interior design field. but you get what i mean.

happy sunday!

gloomy day inspo: black and millennial pink (yeah)

it seems so many centuries ago since my last post on this blog. a gloomy saturday afternoon,  little bean and his dad are napping upstairs.  somehow i found this amazing quiet(? despite the block party music outside our house) time that i can finally surf, strategically, and blog about things i like.

i started to follow scandinavian homes, a stockholm-based interior styling studio,  about a few months ago and i’ve been swooning all over their always refreshing take on the interior styling. you should definitely check out their insta.

this property, have just right amount of black, balanced with natural wood materials and a splash of, well, millennial pink from the furnishing. the wood and petal color soften the mostly black and white interior and the result is just simply gorgeous.

i am definitely sold, again, about the mesh panel railing.

happy weekend everyone!

spring update

oh, october

images via

it is hard to believe we’re now arriving at the month of october, the last quarter of 2016. didn’t we just pop the champagne and say hello to 2016?? crazy. and i am so excited to finally have some time to be back to the blogsphere.

here is a gorgeous apartment for sale (and sold!) from goteborg, sweden. subway tile with darker grout creates a sharper definition in this very light tone kitchen… and that white and gold hardware  combination is just so irresistibly good.

✚ spotted this handy shoe storage ‘trines’ by ikea. the volume of black has a perfect weight in this mostly white interior…

simply beautiful.

plywood and marble

the freshly cut look of plywood pair with marble countertop, these two simple materials, are surprisingly a perfect complimentary to each other. so minimal in form but rich in its character. simply gorgeous. and hey did i mention there is a beautiful concrete floor (in true cement gray) that extends inside-out? it must be such a treat to have your daily meals or cup of coffee here with that view.

if you’re like me who still believe in concrete floor, check out these beautiful examples here and here by antwerpen-based architecture studio made architects.

the old-meets-new type of house renovation/extension work in UK has been one of my favorite go-to when i am looking for the urban dwell renovation inspiration. i recently came across london-based paper house project‘s work and the holton street project is a perfect sample of their work : minimal yet rich in personality,  which is also michitecture’s design mantra.

” We don’t think sustainability should be a special design feature, but rather a fundamental idea that informs every decision we make from start to finish.”

i can move in here… light wood & rusty coral

i haven’t really seen any project recently that would trigger the “i can move in here” button. and here we go – this AMAZING property in uppsala, sweden ( uppsala is the fourth largest city of sweden, after stockholm, gothenburg and malmö ) is beyond the dream: very crisp interior style with shades of nude and rusty coral color scheme. the layout of the house is simple and efficient. the vintage modern style is still the winning secret ingredient for a chic, modern home.
