sweet monday: chök from barcelona

opened in 2013, this chocolate store chök in barcelona combines the open kitchen concept and a creative take of food display; not to mention the old building charm that adds to the modern interior display. if you’re around the famous la rambla in barcelona, i don’t know why you wouldn’t want to stop by this lovely place for a cup of coffee and fancy donuts!

when i saw this project via azure, i know immediately i have to share it again here! love the subtle industrial style mix with vintage-inspired accessories… think of reclaimed wood and concrete floor with white geometric blocks, jars, amber bottles (here you go). and did i mention this is a place for delicious tacos? at first when i saw the name ‘tacofino’ i know i’ve seen it before… yes, eat street, the show talks about food trucks in/around US and always make you feel hungry and forget you just ate. new year revolution one : cookies baking!

seriously, i’ve never thought one day i will bake cookies from scratch… it just doesn’t seem something i would do when i have spared time. but never say never. i gave it a try this weekend and the whole process was much easier than i anticipated, plus – they are m-m-m good!!

you can check out the official recipe here but this was how i prepared them. no blending machine needed. no granular sugar. no vanilla.
