there were couple moments we were about to quit. come on, stand under the super bright sun with no shade and almost zero breeze — just to be able to see the rain? don’t we have enough rain this summer? but for some reason, we managed to stay without fainting. (let’s talk about the heat wave in nyc during summer time) and guess what: 30 minutes later, we entered the rain room.
only 30 minutes wait time? that’s right, because we were in the view-only line, not the line that will get us in the rain. we didn’t have choice anyway since MoMA have cut off the line after 2pm. and even if we have choice- we won’t want to wait 7-8 hrs since 6am just to be able to get into the rain…
designed by london-based random international, ” Rain Room is a hundred square metre field of falling water through which it is possible to walk, trusting that a path can be navigated, without being drenched in the process. ”
stay tuned for our next wait-vanture! (hint: guggenheim museum )
