we had a uber fun time in nyc this past weekend: it was dusting snow when we arrived (romantic!), stayed at ace hotel, strolled around in soho and l.e.s.,visited eatly(!!finally),phaidon had a HUGE sale, stopped by DWR…etcetc. well, too many to share at once!

let’s start with ace hotel. i highly recommend to these who love modern interior with vintage touch. designed by roman and williams, this historical building had been transformed into a super hip boutique hotel.

according to the website, it’s a “cheap” option among other hotels in nyc. well, it really depends. i won’t say the room we booked was cheap… regardless price, the interior from public space to the room, are all very well curated. LOVE it!!

✚ the lobby area was packed ALL THE TIME! a popular social place.

✚ the room : the whole setting made me feel like i am staying in a bachelor pad, well, in a good way!

✚ smeg… one day we will have our own !! ✚ pendleton blanket ( i can never understand why pendleton’s official website design is not-so-cool… compare to their hipster plaid goods)

✚ love their selection in the bathroom: the pearl soap (handcrafted soap with crushed pearl and natural ingredients from portland, oregon) and… (malin+goetz) moisturizer! the brass hardware is really sweet.

✚ love the beautiful flower at the entrance. the star-shape pendent light fixture is super cool too…
