the concept of bar-restaurant oficina is inspired by the pan-america highway. their menu represented the exotic destinations along the route – from monterrey, mexico all the way to buenos aires, argentina.
besides the delicious brunch, i also really enjoyed the interior details. from the collection of furniture: the industrial pendent, mix of chairs ( click here to read more about my dream tolix chair), to exposed brick with tiled wall. mini tin for sugar packs, liquor bottle for water, and the brass hook for always-crowded manhattan space (why i’ve never seen it in restaurants here? i guess space had never been a concern in philly), great little touches of “mechanic garage” atmosphere.
everyone’s check will come inside this lovely tea box, with tea leafs bedding. definitely more thoughts than having your check sit on a plastic tray…
ps. while i was googling the restaurant information, this weird news came out. i have no idea what’s going on- but my dinning experience was great. that’s all mattered!
