metropolis| may2011| +norway

received or purchased some new architecture & design magazines recently. this one, metropolis + norway, is a special supplement to the metropolis may(05) 2011 issue of metropolis magazine. it is a special edition exploring some latest norwegian design, from architecture to industrial to furniture.

remember the other day i mentioned about my new subscription to the elle interior norway? this mini norway edition from metropolis is such a coincidence to my current norwegian-fever.

here are some of my favorites:

several astonishing architecture along the norway’s national tourist route

i LOVE this project. you can’t miss this amazing viewing platform in aurland, designed by todd saunders and tommie wilhelsen architects. the pine-clad steel platform is designed with very minimal impact to surrounding natural landscape. actually saunders architecture is one of my favorite nordic architecture firm. they always deliver high quality of design with innovative solution to surrounding landscape context, and this lookout project is no exception. so minimal and so astonishing.

a small cute store Pur Norsk located in oslo, dedicated exclusively to norwegian design. http://www.purnorsk.no/
and the most stylish baby cradle ever. the birch cradle comes in walnut vaneer or white laminate. the designer ( founder and ceo of So-Ro ) ane lilian tveit, wanted new parents to be able to say not just ” look at my baby!” but also ” look at my cradle!”… isn’t it cute.
hope you enjoy the mini post today-  and don’t forget, more awesome elle interior norway is coming soon!!
