let’s continue our food talk. found this new pan collection from william-sonoma. now we will be able to make egg waffle at home! well, if you’re not familiar what is egg waffle, this is how it is described on WS’s website: A Hong Kong favorite for generations, the puffy, doughy treats called “egg waffles” are traditionally cooked by sidewalk vendors and enjoyed for breakfast and snacks.

as they call in hong kong, egg-y (雞蛋仔), we also have very similar version of egg waffle in taiwan called eggy-cake (雞蛋糕). this traditional taiwanese snack is no stranger to any taiwanese – it’s cheap (usually 3 for 50 cents maybe?), and the smell of freshly made eggy-cake is just so irresistible! remember once i told my mom that when i grow up, i want to own a store selling egg waffle…what a ambitious kid i was.

here’s a look (found on internet) of traditional taiwanese egg waffle – more of a “egg” shape
