都已經晚上快八點半了,外面氣溫還是高達攝氏38度!!!

幸運的我,白天在公司有冷氣可以吹,( 而且冷氣是讓你冷到要加外套的那種 )可是下班一踏出大樓的第五秒,就可以感受到馬路上柏油路衝來的熱氣,以及熾熱到不行的太陽。回到家,十五分鐘的路程,全身已經黏搭搭… 我是在台灣嗎…

所謂的 [夏天]就是這樣吧。

在這篇紐約時報的文章,討論shaved-ice ( 刨冰 )的流行,也有提到世界各地幾乎都有的這種夏天冰品…

“ The new snow moguls draw inspiration from a whirling blizzard of these treats around the world: Hawaiian shave ice, Mexican raspados, Korean bingsu, Baltimore sky-blue “snowballs” topped with marshmallow, and Taiwanese bao bing flavored with palm sugar syrup… “

美國這種刨冰雖然漂亮,感覺沒有台灣的刨冰過癮…( 話說叫做 Tsua-Bing 比較親切吧?哈 )

here is the taiwanese version. seems very popular in Taiwan those years : brown sugar syrup glazed shaved-ice.

這幾年台灣似乎很流行這種黑糖刨冰… 以前那種加了一大堆芋頭紅豆奇奇怪怪圓仔的刨冰還有人在吃嗎?還是只有我這老一輩的… 雖然少了台灣的古早味感,這家在紐約曼哈頓Chelsea market的 people’s pops 有正妹幫你手工削冰也是不錯 :)

this is definitely more stylish than Taiwanese Bao-bing…haha.
