project description from the development company:
” Envisioned by Robert Wennett and designed by Herzog & de Meuron, 1111 Lincoln Road represents the collaboration of renowned architects, landscape architects, artists and designers to create a unique shopping, dining, residential and parking experience for Miami’s residents and visitors. ” – from 1111 Lincoln Road
though Herzog & de Meuron are absolutely qualified as one of the “starchitects”, their projects are still as cultural context sensitive as the first project they designed. some of the celebrity-architects have gradually modified and shifted their style in order to accommodate what we (either client or audience) want to see, it’s very encouraging to see herzorg & de meuron haven’t lost their edge.
anyway, back to the project. being a landscape architect, it’s hard not to wonder what’s going on outside the building. so even though most of the images have put the spotlight on building itself, the landscape design around parking garage deserves some credits as well.
the exterior landscape is designed by miami-based landscape studio Raymond Jungle.
