fancy tuesday… i can move in here

talking about fancy and minimal luxury. this property from stockholm seems has the best neighbors including tous les jours, dr. mat and superfront(!).

the light wood floor and charcoal gray/gray tone makes a elegant and sophisticated style that is classic and chic. i know, i am just using all the flattering words. and yes, i can move in here without changing anything.

leather details accentuated the medium gray cabinets and added a right amount of warmness to this marble-gray combination. oh wait, did i see the marble countertop and back splash?

the charcoal gray hex floor tile and glass shower panel. and more marble counter top for the laundry set. no, we will never get tired of having marble counter top.

ticking ticking clock

schoolhouse_1960s IBM Standard Issue Clock.jpg

1960s IBM Standard Issue Clock by schoolhouse

toddlers have all the time in the world. and we never seem to have enough. as we’re trying to help our little bean developing the sense of time, showing the numbers on the clock seem to be a reasonable start point. i imagine by pointing the numbers it will help our little bean to visualize the time, in some way. then i realized having a wall clock for home was never on my wish list. we’ve been heavily relying on our iPhones and watches, and the one alarm clock in our bedroom. there doesn’t seem a  need to have a wall clock… unless with an educational purpose.

my favorite go-to, schoolhouse, sure has the clock that will fit perfectly in our living room and the educational purpose of ‘showing numbers’. the price is a bit $$$$, but considering it is made in USA – hand-assembled – i am sure the quality will speak for itself.

i also came across CLOCKSICLE, an australian clock design shop where you can find kid’s clocks with good style and affordable price.

after all, i find this is a very tricky timing as we’re in the midst of home renovation and i will probably wait until everything is done (seriously) before i can hang the clock in our living room. and oh, there is a living room coffee table we’ve been talking about in lieu of our current trunk case coffee table.

… i know, speaking of wish list.

our home renovation is totally behind the schedule (somehow we are not surprised?), and i really, really cannot wait to the day when everything is done done. i miss the days of making saturday morning breakfast without needing to going in/out through the plastic sheeting… well, you know.

definitely we’ll be so proud of ourselves when this renovation is done.

spotted this beautiful kitchen with some impossibly beautiful details and ample of natural sunlight. you can read the full article here to learn more about the kitchen layout.

have a nice week ahead!

love the simple material palette and the earthy tone that creates this cozy home interior.

and look at the size of window/doors… natural sunlight definitely makes any space better without much effort needed.

gloomy day inspo: black and millennial pink (yeah)

it seems so many centuries ago since my last post on this blog. a gloomy saturday afternoon,  little bean and his dad are napping upstairs.  somehow i found this amazing quiet(? despite the block party music outside our house) time that i can finally surf, strategically, and blog about things i like.

i started to follow scandinavian homes, a stockholm-based interior styling studio,  about a few months ago and i’ve been swooning all over their always refreshing take on the interior styling. you should definitely check out their insta.

this property, have just right amount of black, balanced with natural wood materials and a splash of, well, millennial pink from the furnishing. the wood and petal color soften the mostly black and white interior and the result is just simply gorgeous.

i am definitely sold, again, about the mesh panel railing.

happy weekend everyone!

about millennial pink…

recently i’ve came across a lot of similar hue of pink that is very soft and pale. from wrapping paper, to book cover, to sneakers/sweatshirts… to water bottle. later on i learned from my millennial colleague that this pink is the ever popular millennial pink.

hmm. not fair. this is a such elegant and chic pink. i don’t even want to google what “80s pink” looks like.

lovely.

as much as i love the gray-white-black color palette… i am really obsessed about this pastel pink. such a calming and cheerful color (? can these two characters co-exist).

what is your millennial pink?

it’s hard to believe it has been seven years since i first posted this townhouse project by eliding & oscarson architects. seven years have been passed by and it is still my all time favorite. i just want to copy everything for my future home (somewhere, someday). it really worth another shout-out after seven years. check it out here.
